Marginal microbial infiltration in coronary double sealing ParronLauren Fernanda PanerariAlini Leopoldo da Silva CimardiAna Claudia Baladelli da Silva VictorinoFausto Rodrigo 2018 <p></p><p>Introduction:The coronal sealing should be effective in preventing the penetration of saliva and its contaminants into the root canal system.Objective:To evaluate the degree of microbial coronal leakage in double sealing using Coltosol® associated MaxxionR® and Bioplic®.Material and method:premolars extracted human teeth were used, in which standardized with 6 mm deep coronary openings will be held. The groups were divided according to provisional restorative cements : Group I - Bioplic®; Group II - Bioplic® +Coltosol®; Group III - Maxxion R®; Group IV - Maxxion R® + Coltosol®; Group V - Coltosol®; Control Group. One adapting the teeth in the lower portion of Eppendorf® tubes device was manufactured so that two-thirds to protrude out of the plastic tube. The device was fixed to a glass vial containing 7 ml of sterile broth "Brain Heart Infusion". In the upper portion of the Eppendorf tube was inoculated with Enterococcus faecalis performed. The reading was performed every 24 hours for 30 days evaluating turbidity in the culture medium in contact with the tooth apex. The results were analyzed by Kruskal -Wallis test (p < 0.05) statistical test.Result:There was infiltration in all groups at the end of 30 days, and groups I and IV showed 66% infiltration. Groups IV and V showed infiltration in 5 days and group III in 26 days.Conclusion:The association between the provisional restorative cements not prevented nor decreased the leakage of Enterococcus faecalis.</p><p></p>
