Abstract This article derives from a master's research whose objective was to analyze the resilience in the built environment of social housing produced by the Minha Casa, Minha Vida Program, with focus on two of its attributes: climate adequacy and environmental adequacy. For that, methodological procedures of Post-Occupancy Evaluation were developed to observe these attributes in social housing located in the case study entitled Residential Sucesso Brasil (Uberlândia, MG). This article focuses on the description of the results that characterize the environmental inadequacy of the case study. Characteristics inherent to the project were identified, among other efects, which lead to the waste of construction materials, high expenses with electric energy, depredation of recreational areas and areas of permanente protection. The main contribution of the work is the identification of design solutions that should be encouraged in the HIS project in order to amplify their environmental suitability. In addition, the results of the research developed support the achievement of more resilient social housing, thus aligning with the objectives of urban agendas of international relevance, which place resilience as an engine in the fight against the vulnerability of large cities.
